EIZO's new ColorEdge CS3200X adds a 31.5-inch screen to the CS Series, with Sync Signal automation, HDR support, and USB-C power delivery.

EIZO has announced the ColorEdge CS3200X, a 31.5-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) color management monitor joining the CS Series lineup, and the first 31.5-inch 4K model in the range.

The 350 nit screen has decent specs for post work as you would expect, with a pixel density of 140 PPI, refresh rate of 60 Hz, and a 1300:1 contrast ratio. Color gamut coverage is 99% Adobe RGB and 96% DCI-P3, with preset modes for DCI-P3, BT.709, and Display P3 accessible directly from the on-screen display. The monitor supports both HLG and PQ transfer functions for HDR evaluation, and ships with 10-bit simultaneous display from a 16-bit LUT and EIZO's patented digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) for screen consistency.

Sync Signal added

A new Sync Signal feature, a first for the CS Series, automatically adjusts brightness, gamma, and color gamut based on the input signal's metadata. This should speed things up in post by eliminating some of the manual steps you find when switching between SDR and HDR sources or across color spaces.

Connectivity includes DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB Type-C, the latter handling video, USB data, and up to 70 W power over a single cable. The monitor is fanless and features a three-sided frameless design.

The CS3200X is also the first CS Series model to ship with a bundled magnetic light-shielding hood, which attaches without assembly. It supports ColorNavigator 7 software and EIZO or third-party external sensors for calibration, and carries a five-year warranty (usage limited to 30,000 hours).

Pricing and availability

Shipping is expected in June, with European availability likely in the autumn. Pricing has not been disclosed. By way of reference the 27-inch CS2740 retails at around $1947.
