Videographer Jesse Calis used the DPA 4060 miniature mic for RedShark’s IBC2026 interviews. He explains how it coped with the noise of the show floor.
If you’ve ever tried to have a conversation in the middle of a busy trade show, you know how noisy they can be. Jesse Calis at Halate produced all our video from IBC2026 this year, and was ably helped in that by using the DPA 4060 miniature microphone for interviews.
Jesse says the mic helped reduce background noise at the point of capture, and that a little extra post-processing brought the level of crowd and neighboring-stand noise down further. The result, he reckons, was clean interview audio despite the conditions. And when you’re coping with the storm and bluster of Hall 7 on a Saturday afternoon at IBC, that’s all you can ask for.
