Blackmagic has updated its Streaming software to v4.1, adding support for up to 16 channels of embedded audio and HDR metadata among other new features.

Following the release of Blackmagic Streaming 4.0 in June, the Blackmagic dev team has added some interesting new capabilities in the first point release of the new version.

The software update adds support for up to 16 channels of embedded audio and HDR metadata, as well as improved utility list view on the entire range of products it supports (Blackmagic Streaming Encoder 4K, Blackmagic Streaming Decoder 4K, Blackmagic Web Presenter HD and Blackmagic Web Presenter 4K). It also adds support for standards conversion on Blackmagic Streaming Decoder 4K.

As always, the software can be downloaded from the Blackmagic support site.

What's new in Streaming 4.1

  • Standards Converter on Streaming Decoder 4K’s SDI and HDMI outputs.
  • 16 channels audio support.
  • HDR metadata support.
  • The utility includes list view of all connected encoders and decoders.
  • General performance and stability improvements.
