Cloud-editing specialist Blackbird has announced the availability of its long-awaited video co-creation platform, elevate io.
We first wrote about elevate io almost two years ago, back when it was slated for a release in 2024. Cloud-native video editing company Blackbird has taken a bit longer in developing it than that, but it's finally available and it looks interesting.
Blackbird is, of course, famously browser-based and was a pioneer in being so. elevate io follows a similar route, and the idea is that the service enables creative teams to work together on video projects in realtime within a browser. The company refers to this approach as “video co-creation,” contrasting it with existing review-and-approval tools that operate only after editing is complete.
If the xx io reference in the product's name wasn't obvious before, it should be now.
The platform is built on AWS which is going to provide it with scalability and security, as well as allowing for rapid feature updates and iteration. At launch the feature set comprises:
The free tier gives you 5 seats, 25 projects, 5 GB cloud storage, and 720p HD exports.
The Creator tier costs $14.99 a month and expands on that to give you 5 seats, unlimited projects, 500 GB cloud storage, unlimited 4K Ultra HD exports, AI Text to Speech, access to all effects, no elevate io branding on exports.
Additional seats are available at $8 per month. There is a 50% discount for students and educators.
