ARRI's Omnibar arrives as the company's first new light under Riedel ownership — a battery-powered, IP65-rated LED bar in 2 ft and 4 ft versions.
ARRI has launched the Omnibar, the first light of its Thomas Riedel-owned era. It's a compact, battery-powered multi-color LED linear fixture available in two-foot (Omnibar 2) and four-foot (Omnibar 4) versions, with black or blue/silver housing.
ARRI's pitch is that the Omnibar combines full-spectrum output, modular scalability, and IP65 weather protection. It is also one of the most affordable lights ARRI has ever released, though it's still expensive compared against the competition from the likes of Nanlite.
The fixture delivers CRI 98 / TLCI 98 at 5600K, matching ARRI's existing LED lineup. Pixel control is handled by 32 zones in the Omnibar 4 and 16 in the Omnibar 2, allowing dynamic in-camera effects and design elements.
The modularity means that Omnibars can be daisy-chained via the Omnibase hub, with up to 12 ft (3.7 m) of fixtures per chain and a maximum of 24 ft (7.3 m) across two or more chains. Rigging options include built-in magnets for instant attachment to metal surfaces in any orientation, integrated cable slots for zip ties or safety cables, Omnigrip for end-to-end connections, Omnipin for use with traditional rigging solutions such as lighting stands, and Omniclip brackets that affix to almost any surface at three angles.
Omnibar is available now as single sets, multi-unit transport sets with accessories, or a Creator Set aimed at individual creators and small crews. Pricing starts at $850 for the ARRI Omnibar 2 Creator Set. The ARRI Omnibar 2 Single Set is $1150 and the ARRI Omnibar 4 Single Set $1400.
