Accsoon's flagship tri-band wireless system gains a camera-control port and a receiver USB-C output. The CineView Master 4K II costs $899.

Accsoon has announced the CineView Master 4K II, the second generation of its flagship tri-band wireless video system. The big additions are camera control from a phone or tablet and a USB-C video output on the receiver.

Neither feature is new to the CineView range. Accsoon added camera control and USB-C video output at both ends to the CineView SE 4K, which we covered in March, and to the CineView Master 4K Lite in April. The Master 4K II finally brings them to the top model.

Camera control

The transmitter has a dedicated USB-C camera-control port. With a supported camera connected, the Accsoon SEE app on a phone or tablet can start and stop recording, set touch focus, and adjust ISO, aperture, white balance, and shutter speed. Supported cameras are the Sony FX3, FX30, A7C II, A7S III, A7 IV, and A9 III, and the Canon R5, R6, R5 II, R6 II, R7, and R8. Accsoon says it plans to add support for other makers, as well as more Canon and Sony models.

There is one caveat to be aware of. Camera control works only when the mobile device connects to the transmitter over WiFi, and it is unavailable through the receiver's USB connection.

USB-C at both ends

The original Master 4K offered a USB-C video output on the transmitter only. The II adds one to the receiver, so a phone or tablet can be cabled in at the camera and at the monitoring position. Connected devices charge while monitoring, and up to 10 devices can watch the feed at once.

The transmission side carries over from the previous model. The system uses the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands simultaneously, with Accsoon's proprietary RTMS 4.0 protocol. But one significant upgrade is that the II transmits DCI 4K and UHD at up to 60 fps with H.265 encoding, where the original handled UHD only.

Accsoon quotes ideal-scenario latency under 25 ms at 1080p60 and under 35 ms at 4K60 (excluding camera latency) and a range of 2.5 km (1.55 miles).

Connections and power

The transmitter takes HDMI 2.0 and 3G SDI input, with an HDMI 2.0 loop-out. The receiver outputs HDMI 2.0 and 3G SDI. Power comes from NP-F batteries or 12 V DC input, with Accsoon V-mount and Gold-mount adapters sold separately.

Each unit measures 130 × 95 × 32 mm (5.1 × 3.7 × 1.3 in) without antennas. The transmitter weighs 322 g (11.4 oz) and the receiver 320 g (11.3 oz). The system supports Frame.io Camera to Cloud through a compatible mobile workflow, and it works with the CineView Master 4K, Master 4K Lite, SE 4K, M7 Pro, and M7H Pro.

Price and availability

The CineView Master 4K II kit costs $899, slightly up from the original’s $849 launch price, and pre-orders are open now.
